Greetings! And Happy New Year! Below you will find the latest FARMS news in our monthly e-newsletter. Hello, my name is Caleb Phillips. I am a missionary's kid from Northern Thailand and presently my wife, Cayleigh, and our son, Daniel, and I are missionaries in Northern Thailand. It is always exciting to be part of God's work and to see His impact on people. I believe God has been preparing me and my family for this opportunity to serve Him through communications in Southeast Asia with FARMS. I have been around FARMS since I was a kid, I've had the opportunity to see how God has used FARMS to reach so many people in so many different ways. I am excited to be part of this now as an adult and be able to witness firsthand how God will impact people in great need through FARMS.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, it is with great sadness that we bring you this news.

The FARMS family lost a dear brother who was a long-time participant in FARMS. He was involved in administering the FARMS loans to some of his church members where he served. We cannot disclose his identity due to the sensitivity of the area and the persecution our brothers and sisters in Christ constantly face.

We ask if you would join us in praying for those that loved him and those whom he impacted for the Kingdom of God—as a church has lost their pastor and a family has lost their loved one. He was nearly 80 years old.

He received Christ when he was 50 years old and has been a pastor for almost 25 years in his local Church. He was a very strong preacher and desired the spreading of the gospel to fulfill “The Great Commission” (Matthew 28:16-20). He was used by the Lord to stabilize 15 local churches.

While he was returning home from preaching a sermon to his neighbor’s village; his auto-rickshaw was attacked by Muslim fundamentalists and he was very badly injured. His people took him to the hospital. But, sadly his life was lost.

While we have been greatly saddened by this news, we are even more inspired by his great example of faith, leadership, and a life well-lived for Christ. We are certain that he is hearing from the Father, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” We will miss him. Again, please pray for his family and those who knew him.
