Happy New Year! An Intro to FARMS Regional Coordinator of Southeast Asia

Hello, my name is Caleb Phillips. I am a missionary's kid from Northern Thailand and presently my wife, Cayleigh, and our son, Daniel, and I are missionaries in Northern Thailand. It is always exciting to be part of God's work and to see His impact on people. I believe God has been preparing me and my family for this opportunity to serve Him through communications in Southeast Asia with FARMS. I have been around FARMS since I was a kid, I've had the opportunity to see how God has used FARMS to reach so many people in so many different ways. I am excited to be part of this now as an adult and be able to witness firsthand how God will impact people in great need through FARMS.

Prayer Needs & Encouragement

Dear Brothers and Sisters, it is with great sadness that we bring you this news.

The FARMS family lost a dear brother who was a long-time participant in FARMS. He was involved in administering the FARMS loans to some of his church members where he served. We cannot disclose his identity due to the sensitivity of the area and the persecution our brothers and sisters in Christ constantly face.

We ask if you would join us in praying for those that loved him and those whom he impacted for the Kingdom of God—as a church has lost their pastor and a family has lost their loved one. He was nearly 80 years old.

He received Christ when he was 50 years old and has been a pastor for almost 25 years in his local Church. He was a very strong preacher and desired the spreading of the gospel to fulfill “The Great Commission” (Matthew 28:16-20). He was used by the Lord to stabilize 15 local churches.

While he was returning home from preaching a sermon to his neighbor’s village; his auto-rickshaw was attacked by Muslim fundamentalists and he was very badly injured. His people took him to the hospital. But, sadly his life was lost.

While we have been greatly saddened by this news, we are even more inspired by his great example of faith, leadership, and a life well-lived for Christ. We are certain that he is hearing from the Father, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” We will miss him. Again, please pray for his family and those who knew him.

*Name left out due to sensitivity of identity and location.

Thank You! Because of your faithful support in giving and in prayer FARMS is able start new programs like this one in Kenya! We could not do this without you and certainly not without our Heavenly Father. FARMS currently has 25 programs in 13 countries and is continuing to grow.

If you haven’t partnered with FARMS would you consider partnering to play a part in growing programs like this around the world? Partnering with FARMS means investing in opportunities to escape poverty and strengthen the local church! #DoingGoodThatIsGood

Ways To Partner With FARMS

FARMS Coffee, Pray, and Give!

There is no shortage of brothers and sisters who need the opportunity that FARMS provides in order to start a business. If we are to continue on with the mission of FARMS then a gift of generosity would help tremendously! Your partnership is an investment in families allowing them to give and work their way out of poverty while preserving their dignity and avoiding dependency. We would love for you to consider giving to FARMS!

Here are a few ways you can give and/or help FARMS:

Give a one-time gift and be in prayer for how the Lord can use your gift in the lives of your fellow brothers and sisters around the world!

Be encouraged that your monthly support is helping fund our revolving loan programs; making a real and lasting impact on the lives of those helped!

Buy coffee for yourself and give the gift of coffee to others! 100% of the profits from every bag of coffee go to FARMS! Also, it's wonderful tasting coffee and the quality is amazing.

Maybe you aren't able to give financially. But can you share about FARMS? Can you share our social media posts or share about FARMS with your family, friends, church, co-workers, bible study, school, missions board, etc.?

Sometimes the right connection to the right person is the beautiful working of the Lord that comes through the simple act of sharing. Word of mouth is an incredible tool that we all have. And it's free!

PRAY! Pray for FARMS to continue to receive new and existing support. Pray for the recipients of FARMS loans. Pray for new programs that are starting and for God to bless all those receiving loans and those involved in all facets of the ministry of FARMS.
