MOVING FORWARD WITH MEDICAL CARE AND MORE
With your support, our health projects are improving the lives of thousand of people in need. As we move forward, we are committed to working together to make a lasting difference for others in the area of health care and more:
BASIC HEALTH CARE remains out of reach — geographically and financially — for many villagers. That is why our mobile health clinics are in such demand, and why we are increasing our services this year to include expanded dental outreach, traditional medicine such as acupuncture, and veterinary services for animals.
EDUCATION is the key. In remote villages where schools are underfunded and neglected, we’re providing the support essential for students to learn and thrive — from preschoolers to women who are reading words for the first time in their lives.
THE ENVIRONMENT is at the forefront of many of our efforts. Rainwater harvesting, solar electricity, and organic gardens are not only good for the earth, they improve the health and wellbeing of villagers — a win-win for all. Working with local partners, we promote green awareness campaigns and train villagers in environmentally sustainable practices.
WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT is in its infancy in India and Nepal. We are pushing it forward by opening conversations and reducing stigma around women’s issues, increasing awareness and safety, and providing training aimed at economic independence and self-sufficiency.
Together, we can meet the opportunities to reach more people in need. Thank you for taking an active role to improve and save the lives of the people of the Himalayas.
