There were 15+ Spinners who read last week's epistle and were at the start line @
It was a relatively short (25mi) ride over roads that were more suited for a cycle cross trek. We had not been on these roads East of Beloit for awhile and had forgotten that the Wisconsin State Budget did not include improving many secondary & tertiary roads. I guess we should start riding our mountain bikes like Larry when traversing on these "pot hole laden roads".
Here is the report from "Hammer John"
Thought you would like to know that the "Road Less Traveled" Division of the Hammers deliberately wandered in an ad hoc fashion of sorts out to Sharon to avail ourselves of a good tail wind ride "home." This gave us a healthy and at times furiously quick 35 miles, an opportunity to covet Brad's new bike, pay homage to Marathon Lon Haldeman, and meditate on the loss of daylight.
Weather looks a bit "iffy" for this coming Tuesday so let's hope that we can keep on truckin' and don't forget your front & rear Blinkies!!!
Here is message from Greg Wicklund, owner/operator of The Beloit Bicycle Company...
Just wanted to let everyone know about the change to my customer restroom accessibility.
I will try to have the key on a hook by the side of the door on Tuesdays. So when using the bathroom simply put the key back on the hook when finished. My having to put up a (customer only) sign was due to non-customers coming in off the street...
All Spinners are always welcome !
Finally, mark your calendars for our annual Autumn Gathering which will be at The Confluence in South Beloit on Sunday November 5th @ 5pm...details to follow in future epistles.
