November 1st -  The Feast of All Saints

We will celebrate this feast day this Sunday, November 3rd.

The Feast of All Saints’ is one of the seven principal feasts in the church year. It has a fixed date of November 1. The Book of Common Prayer, however, allows it to be moved to the first Sunday of November. This year we will celebrate the Feast of All Saints on Sunday, November 3rd

It is the day when we remember, celebrate, and give thanks for the lives of “all saints,” known and unknown. Some saints are recognized and known by the larger church, some are known only to local congregations, and others are known to God alone.

We will remember and read the names of our local saints, those people who have loved, guided, and nurtured our lives. This is not simply a recollection of the past. Their example, presence, and prayer still surround and support us. It is why we can “join our voices with Angels and Archangels and all the company of heaven” and proclaim the glory of God’s name as we sing:

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
    Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
    Hosanna in the highest.

A blessed and happy All Saints’ day to you.  -- Mike+

Our Daily Readings Continue

Join us as we "Step out in Faith" and read "Practicing Extravagant Generosity" daily.

Our “Stepping in Faith” continues and we hope you are enjoying the short daily readings. Have you read today's reading (Day 5 - Friday) on "Muscle Memory" yet?

For the next three weeks we will have speakers telling about their own approach to stewardship and giving. This week Ashley Taylor will share his story at both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services.

If for some reason you did not receive your copy of the book by now, please contact the church office.
