We recently shared a few stories from our donors about the ways effective giving has enriched their lives and the steps they have taken to incorporate effective giving into their lifestyles. Now we want to share a few stories from our beneficiaries about how your donations have impacted their lives and helped improve their livelihood.

The Fred Hollows Foundation
Seven-year old Cam lives with her mother Hoa and father Nhat, 25km outside Quang Ngai city in Vietnam. She’d been blind for four years with congenital cataract. A few years ago, Cam’s brother Quoc also had cataract, and the family spent all of their money restoring his sight. When Hoa realised her daughter had the same problem, she found herself unable to eat or sleep properly.

Stock Donations for Good

Donating stock is a powerful way to make an impact. The stock market has been trending upwards, reaching highs in early April. But the market is volatile, and trends can change at any moment. Donating stocks today ensures you can take advantage of these highs, and give the powerful gift you intend.

By donating stock rather than selling it, you will avoid paying a capital gains tax and if you donate a long-term holding and itemize deductions, you can also take a charitable deduction for the entire donation.
