Opening Thursdays Again
Over the next 2 weeks we will assess how to open Thursdays again, hopefully by the week of June 15. We're reopening slowly in order to see what else we need to do to reduce the risk of COVID-19 as our patient numbers come back up. Thank you all so much for your support, masks, and patience as we work on all this. Be safe everyone!
In working on assessing risk as we reopen I came across this article by an immunologist. It approximates info using the standard flu as a model, including how much risk comes from different types of breathing and from being in different environments. The principle is virus exposure over an extended period of time increases risk. With that in mind--as well as the need to take more time cleaning--one of the changes we are making is limiting the treatment time to 30-45 minutes, reducing all of your exposure times. It's not ideal but for now the treatment space needs to be as safe as possible for you all as well as Mitch and I who spend several hours indoors with all of you.
Here's a basic summary of the current advice on cleaning masks for reusable cloth masks (straightforward instructions) and cleaning disposable N95s (don't do it at home since you don't have the proper equipment). Take a look and please remember that information is consistently being updated as we learn more, so stay alert for updates.
MAKING APPOINTMENTS: For the time being we will only accept folks with appointments or same-day call-ins. No walk-ins will be accepted currently. This is to limit the number of people in the office at any one time. Please stay on-time or at least allow for the flexibility of immediate rescheduling. We want to prevent folks waiting in the reception area.

We ask everyone entering our office to please wear a mask at all times. No one will be allowed to stay in the reception or treatment areas without one. This will be the case for the foreseeable future since we do not yet have good control over COVID-19's spread.
Many people's situations have changed quickly, some dramatically. As everyone works on dealing with their new circumstances this community space has also been adjusting. Our landlord has helped us with temporary rent deferral, which has allowed us to drop the lower end of our fee schedule and bring back the unemployed discounted fee. But all these are time-limited offerings, especially since we'll likely be working under a reduced capacity for months still. Whatever comes we're working on keeping our fees as affordable as we can, and keeping our doors open to you as long as we can.
