Corsham Walking Festival - Annual General Meeting
A reminder that we will be holding our Annual General Meeting at 1900 on Thursday 12 September 2019 in The Methuen Arms, Corsham (In the Scullery meeting room towards the back). Please come along and hear about our work during 2019 and elect the Committee for 2020.
We are holding the AGM earlier than previous years so that the new Committee has more time to carry out the necessary planning ahead of a meeting with Walk Leaders and Back Markers - likely to be held towards the end of October. Accordingly the Agenda contains links to the minutes from last years AGM, the summary report from Festival 2019 and the accounts for the 10 months ending 31 July 2019.
As a result of the change of date for the AGM, I am no longer able to attend and I would like to thank Tom Winskill for agreeing to chair this meeting.
You will be aware that in previous years we have struggled to fill all the Committee roles and this has affected our ability to deliver all the objectives listed in our Constitution. The main sticking point tends to be the ability to commit to a monthly schedule of meetings throughout the year. The reality of course is that much of the work is of limited duration (typcially in the last couple of months before the annual walking festival) and can be carried out outside of the Committee.
In preparation for the AGM we have put together a complete List of Festival roles and this attempts to identify those roles that are of limited duration and/or can be carried out within a Working Group. Depending upon the interests/availability of volunteers, more than one role can be carried by an individual; conversely we are seeking more than one person to share the web admin role.
A core of this years' Committee have indicated their willingness to stand again in some capacity (Tom Winskill, Margaret Winskill, Pete Smith, Barry Cox, Sarah Keevil, Gill Fox, Elma Lawer, Karen Christian) but we would welcome more volunteers to bring new ideas and ensure the success of next years Festival as well as our other objectives. Please consider volunteering. If you want to know more about any of the roles please contact me or any other member of the Committee.
