Join us Wednesday, Aug. 24 for an online discussion of Nathaniel Philbrick's In the Heart of the Sea

Join us for the final discussion of our 2022 Adult Summer Reading Program: an in-depth discussion of this non-fiction book that tells of the 1821 wreck of the whaleship Essex, which inspired Melville’s classic Moby-Dick. In this National Book Award-winning book, historian Philbrick recounts the story of the tragedy, using archival materials to bring to life the Nantucket-based sailors’ struggle to reach South America.
This online program will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 via Zoom. As always, this program is free and open to all.
