Join us at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 for an online event featuring local broadcasting icon and University City resident Julius Hunter. During this event, Hunter will discuss his new book, Professor Julius K. Hunter’s Stuff You Never Knew About St. Louis History, and share the stories behind his previous books, his long journalism career, and his life in St. Louis.
During his illustrious 33-year career as an award-winning broadcast and print journalist, Hunter has confounded any typecasting of his published works, which include a popular children’s alphabet book, a college textbook on broadcast journalism, two best-selling coffee table favorites about the magnificent mansions of St. Louis, and a comprehensive guide to digging for family roots.
Hunter’s latest book, Professor Julius K. Hunter’s Stuff You Never Knew About St. Louis History, offers up 309 juicy little “fun facts” about St. Louis history that somehow evaded our history classes. This light read, which is appropriate for all ages, comes filled with clever and hilarious artwork by gifted St. Louis illustrator Todd Bauman.
This online program is free and open to all. The program will also be live-streamed to UCPL’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Copies of Professor Julius K. Hunter’s Stuff You Never Knew About St. Louis History are available for purchase at Subterranean Books, 6271 Delmar Blvd.
