Join us Wednesday, July 27 for an online discussion of Mat Johnson's Pym

Join us for a discussion of this biting racial satire, which follows a failing college professor who seeks to devises a mission to find the lost, Black-inhabited island near Antarctica described in Poe’s novel The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym, setting off with an all-black crew on an ill-fated sojourn south. Originally published in 2011, Pym is both a death-defying adventure and a probing examination of notions of race, even at the farthest ends of the earth.
This online program will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 via Zoom. As always, this program is free and open to all.
