it's simply amazing that we have experienced what R. Buckminster Fuller noted as a "doubling of universal knowledge”, hitting this bell curve in time, we are doubling our knowledge every 13 hours (when in the 1900s, it would have taken a century to get to this point.)
because of the amazing technological advancements and compounding of intelligence of our society, you are able to have access to my words, or if you subscribe to STARSEED DIGITAL, our staff’s voices, movements, and content while you're in line at the DMV or grocery store or literally anywhere on a device that connects anytime, at your own convenience. that's pretty incredible.
...BUT our soul, as Casey (@cakebycasey) notes in the latest Starseed Podcast, is not meant to know consciously what each other is up to at all times and remain functioning as a whole human being. It’s simply information overload.
all this advance in technology is doubling itself so rapidly that we really need to bring a healthy, sustainable direction to our thought about this for all of it to be working towards our growth, as opposed to the opposite.
in our classes and programs, we deconstruct just about all the yoga/life things and today, we deconstruct the word "growth". it truly can be a blessing and a curse.
growth in the living world doesn't mean just expansion. In a human being, growth is development to maturity, it means also inner growth. growth needs to be qualified. just because exxon made a huge profit and the GNP of Alaska rose after the oil spill, doesn’t mean this is growth that is sustainable. ultimately, this is destructive growth.
as starseeds, we are humans who intuitively know that in order to grow sustainably, we must be guided by our heart center because we acknowledge our souls strong desire to unfold. and in yoga we teach to peel back the layers of conditioning to come back to this space so that we may grow "organically".
how do we do this? what kind of information, ideas, and concepts are we feeding ourselves and those who will come after us?
we all have very different abilities, very different talents and gifts. most systems are designed to ignore these- the idea is that if you keep with the program and you do whatever is required of you, work your way up, you pop out the far end and you'll lead a life that's profitable and secure. this may be true for some really happy people, but for most, this system idea doesn't work because human life is not linear.
human life is organic, diverse, rich and various, as opposed to standardized or conformist. for all kinds of reasons, we're socialized into thinking that we exist in to fit into categories with certain types of abilities; this sneaks the belief into our minds that if we have other sorts of abilities, we're written off as "weird", and if we don't fit into the categories, well, sorry about your luck!
this why so many of us believe we don't have any creativity or ability; it’s because we don't discover it. It lies dormant (a bit of STARSEED MOVEMENT may help :)
TO GET TO THE POINT, this is why we consider ourselves at STARSEED teachers as opposed to instructors. Our team (check out @namastaystrong.life x Julie Jahn for some gems) truly advocates education- true education, derived from the Latin word "educare", which means "to lead out," or "to draw out," the innate capacity of humans.
in our classes and RYT-200hr Immersion programs, we challenge our Trainers to think critically and truly teach rather than tell ya'll what your issues are, what to think and how yoga could solve all your problems.
learning is simply the drawing out of our innate knowledge, things we already know, so we can step into our power. how do we use the tools already inside of us?
