Pint & Politics - last Tuesday...
On Tuesday 20th August we're back in the private room at the Laguna on Mount Street which is opposite the Mount Street NCP for parking and is also access-friendly via its own ground floor front door and loo so we can help if you need assistance to get in.
The Pints are served for us at table and food is available from the Indian menu but if you want your favourite English dish laid on then let us know in advance and we'll accommodate it.
The Politics will be via our debate so bring some suggestions along or email them in if you can't be there and expect a raffle too; any queries email: Nick Max at KEC Office
Suggestions already in to us include: a more in-depth discussion on our party's Foreign Aid policy and "while we talk about new covenants what about discussing our old and far more wide reaching Pensions Covenant - broken by our government". Could be lively again!
As usual if anyone would like to suggest a change of venue then we'll take a look at it and we've had some, though as usual we struggle to get that combination of no cost but accessible in the city centre or just outside of it. Keep thinking everyone!
We still need our Community Champions, in effect shadow councillors, across the whole of our city area, so Sherwood, Mapperley, The Park, Bulwell and beyond. If you live or are close to the people in one of the council wards please get in touch with us to discuss how to become our designated community champion and start engaging with our - indeed your - people!
We need to target the 55 City Council seats in those 20 Wards so it would be great to have at least 20 volunteers now to get that number of candidates recruited ready to stand next time.
Please think about becoming a shadow councillor and give us a shout, we need some volunteers now and our Constituency Officers, Alfie Pryor, Paul Ruane and Bradley Wing can help coordinate things in your area. Let's get moving, contact: Nick Max at KEC Office
Making Our Voice Heard
As always another reminder that one of the best ways to make our Conservative voice heard and start to make a difference is to use Social Media, such as Facebook and Twitter, so please look us up online and get in touch via our main pages here:
