Best Western's first Canadian GLō in Kanata
KANATA, Ont. — Earlier this month, Best Western celebrated the Canadian arrival of its modern and energetic boutique brand, GLō in Kanata, a suburb of Ottawa. Owner Arif Shariff conducted market research among millennial friends and family to help choose the brand.

Travelodge Canada adds three new properties
CALGARY — Recent Travelodge Canada hotel openings include Travelodge by Wyndham Blairmore, Alberta; Travelodge by Wyndham Cochrane, Ontario; and Travelodge by Wyndham Riguad, Quebec. 
 
Marriott YYZ reno pivotal for Royal Design
TORONTO — Morguard-owned Marriott Toronto Airport is enjoying a pause between renovations, with public areas and the pool completed and guest room renovations coming soon. For Jolanta Lukas, the initial design work was pivotal.
 
Hyatt plans 20 more Canadian hotels by 2022
Hyatt expects to double its brand presence in Canada by 2022 with the opening of more than 20 new hotels. Scott Richer says this will include first Hyatt House and Hyatt Centric hotels in Canada and the first Hyatt hotels in Niagara Falls, as well as Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt, Andaz and Hyatt Place properties.
 
Concord Hospitality update with Nick Kellock

TORONTO — Choice Hotels Canada deals are coming fast and furious — with openings of Ascend Collection hotels in Thunder Bay and Vancouver, a Rodeway Inn in Pikogan, Que., and more planned. Choice president Brian Leon expects 20 new Choice hotels in 2019.
