TORONTO – Days Inn Canada has released G3 prototype. “We are introducing this now for construction in spring and summer of 2021,” said Irwin Prince, president and COO of Realstar Hospitality. “As hotels begin to reopen, we will have the best hotel in the market when the public starts to travel."

TORONTO — Although most hotel revenues and operating expenses have decreased in the current environment, property taxes will likely continue to increase. Hotel owners should be considering how best to address this growing threat to their profitability or viability.

Northland Properties opens hotels in NS and SK
VANCOUVER — Northland Properties, parent company of Sandman and Sutton Place, started the month by announcing the openings of the Sandman Signature Saskatoon South and the long-awaited Sutton Place in Halifax, which opens today.  
STR Canada results week ending Aug. 29, 2020
STR data for August 23-29, 2020 showed lower performance from prior weeks for Canada’s hotel industry. Two provinces reached a 50 per cent occupancy level: Prince Edward Island (55.8 per cent) and British Columbia (53.5 per cent). 
Ontario resort was saved by the summer
BUCKHORN, Ont. — The spring months were difficult for Beachwood Resort as weddings meetings and quilters cancelled due to COVID-19. But they were able to open up and salvage the summer, with a few changes in their guest profile and operating procedures.
Trump Hotel Vancouver closes. Sunray takes over Owens Hospitality, Saskatchewan. St. Regis Hotel opened Sept. 1. Fall back into Ontario travel at The Drake. Naramata Inn now serving lunch. Tea in the window returns.
