Getting to know IHG's Colleen Keating
TORONTO/MONTREAL — Colleen Keating, who recently became COO of IHG, sat down with another Colleen [Isherwood — remarkable only because there aren't that many of us] at Toronto's new Kimpton Hotel. They discussed Keating's Canadian connections, her familiarization tour of IHG properties, and her vision for her new role.
 
Sunray doubles hotel count in just four years
TORONTO — When CLN interviewed Sandeep Gupta four years ago, he said the company was hoping to have 20 hotels in the near future. Today, the company has close to 40 properties and is still growing.

PHOENIX — Best Western has two dual-branded properties in the pipeline in Canada, and both are targeting to begin construction late this year in Calgary and Medicine Hat.
 
 
IHG tops 100 Holiday Inn Express in Canada
TORONTO – IHG now has more than 100 Holiday Inn Express hotels in Canada — 103 to be exact — not only is it the largest IHG brand in Canada, but IHG now the brand from coast to coast — St. John’s, N.L. to Victoria, B.C.

Accor uses biometrics to tap travel desires
TORONTO — I centred my head in the computer camera and it measured the speed of my reactions as I dragged various images into the "yes" or "no" categories to show my travel desires. The computer said I should go to Thailand, Northern California or Germany.
