Volunteer Opportunities

Happy National Volunteer Week! We wouldn’t be able to do it all without our generous and gifted volunteers.

While we won’t be able to gather for trainings or projects in the near future, we are accepting applications for new volunteers to prepare for Parks & Open Space needs throughout the year. Training dates will be announced when they are scheduled. For immediate volunteer opportunities to help with COVID-19 efforts, please visit HelpColoradoNow.org.

Ongoing Opportunities

Native Seed Garden Steward

Assist plant ecologists in maintaining the Native Seed Garden. Your efforts will help increase the amount of seed available for use in ecological restoration.

Volunteers regularly visit the garden for weeding, monitoring seed development, and reporting any needed maintenance such as irrigation repair, and major herbivory.

For more information, contact Carrie Cimo at ccimo@bouldercounty.org or 303-678-6329.

Applications are accepted on a continuing basis.

Living History Demonstrator

Help visitors travel back in time to an 1880s ranch in the mountains. Learn fun and easy living history demonstrations to share at special events and weekday school field trips. It’s your chance to be a pioneer and give visitors an appreciation for the area’s past: dress in period costume, cook on a wood stove, give tours, chop wood, make shingles, churn butter, and do laundry with a washboard!

For more information, contact Sheryl Kippen at skippen@bouldercounty.org or 303-776-8848.

Application deadline is May 1.
