One-time Opportunities

Fall Forestry Project

Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Hall Ranch
Please join us to help clean up and restore the forests as Boulder County finishes up ongoing treatment efforts in order to restore ecosystems and mitigate wildfire threats. Our job will be to organize slash (limbs from trees) into piles that can be easily and safely burned in the winter.

Weather in November is unpredictable and may cause the cancellation of this project. Participants will be notified as soon as possible if this is the case.

Registration required.

Training classes take place on Tuesdays, Jan. 14 through March 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Longmont. Training prepares you to lead nature hikes, present slide programs, and provide hands-on natural history experiences to residents of all ages.

For more information, contact Larry Colbenson at or 303-678-6214.

Application deadline is Nov. 8, 2019, or until the class is filled.

Assist plant ecologists in maintaining the Native Seed Garden. Your efforts will help increase the amount of seed available for use in ecological restoration.

Volunteers regularly visit the garden for weeding, monitoring seed development, and reporting any needed maintenance such as irrigation repair, and major herbivory.

For more information contact Carrie Cimo at or 303-678-6329.
