Celebrating World Mental Health Day on 10 October

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. Mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities, impacting everyone. World Mental Health Day is a chance to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and where people who are struggling can get help.

Croydon Voluntary Action has published a flyer profiling mental health projects in Croydon. Download flyer. If you have any updates for this flyer, please email Kay

South West London Mental Health Strategy

A 3-year strategy is being developed for mental health services in South West London to respond to current challenges, drive forward service transformation and effective collaboration and ensure services deliver accessible and high-quality care to all. The strategy will:
  • Confirm and refresh mental health priorities.
  • Respond to current challenges and drive forward service transformation.
  • Focus on reducing fragmentation and unwarranted variation addressing legacy commissioning issues.
  • Support the introduction of core models ensuring high-quality care for all regardless of SW London location.
  • Focus on addressing population and community needs with a strong emphasis on prevention.
  • Support the delivery of the broader aspirations of the SW London Integrated Care System to improve outcomes, address inequalities and enhance collaboration, productivity, and value for money.
Over the past few months, they have received extensive feedback from both an online survey and through discussions at a number of engagement sessions. The outputs from this engagement have helped shape the themes and ambitions for the strategy. They would like to share their thinking with you and invite you to join one of the scheduled virtual sessions to hear about this.
