Dear Friends of Omega,

With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, Mother Nature is keeping busy these days, and so is Omega!

Read on for information on two Pentecost performances on June 8th, congratulation wishes to Margaret Elaine Plaza, photo album recaps of our spring activities, and info on two great dance events in the wider community.

We're still solidifying details for the rescheduled "Beyond Words" weekend with Carla De Sola this fall--stay tuned for details!

In the meantime, may you be blessed with warmth and light this spring and summer!

Peace,
Becky, Katie, Martha, and Margaret

June Performances

Pentecost at St. Ignatius Loyola

Sunday, 6/8

TWO PERFORMANCES!

11am Wallace Hall Family Mass
(in hall beneath the church)

7:30pm Contemporary Mass
(in main church)

With images of wings, wind, and fire, Pentecost liturgies practically beg for dance! Omega will present several pieces at two masses, including a remounting of Carla De Sola's "Veni Sancte Spiritus," a stirring duet to "Send Us Your Spirit," and a rousing rendition of "Send Down the Fire." Various choreography will be augmented by our trademark "fire sleeves," and since this is the one day of the year we get to wear them, watch out--we plan to take St. Ignatius's words to heart and "set the world on fire" with our dancing!

St. Ignatius Loyola is located on Mahattan's Upper East Side at 84th St. and Park Ave. Map

Omega News
Congratulations to Omega Associate Director, Margaret Elaine Plaza, recipient of the Center for Arts in Educations' 2014 National Artist Teacher Fellowship!

As a 2014 NATF Fellow, Margaret will travel to Nice, France and Cuba this summer, to study dance under the mentorship and tutelage of Mr. Gianin Loringett, artistic director of OffJazz Dance Company, resulting in choreographing dance works of art that will premiere in New York City.

Safe travels, Margaret!
Stay tuned for more information on the "Beyond Words" weekend!

We are awaiting a prognosis on Carla De Sola's knee injury before rescheduling an exact date for the activities this fall. Check Omega's website for updated information as autumn draws near.

Thank you for your continued prayers for Carla's healing!
