RSA UK-Africa Network

Saturday 10 January 2015, 10.30am-3.30pm
Impact Hub Westminster, London, SW1Y 4TE

You are warmly invited to Africa-UK Connections in Practice - New Approaches for 2015.

UK-Africa collaborations are changing. Now that we live in a connected world, traditional top-down ways of doing things are outdated. Effective two-way communication at a distance is increasingly possible, and that can mean collaborative problem solving.

Looking at international development from an empowerment perspective, we are going to consider how successful collaborative projects linking UK and English-speaking, sub-Saharan Africa can grow and be replicated.

If you have an interest in international development, social enterprise or creative ways of using technology, come and join us.

From £8 a ticket, find out more information here.
Email Pamela McLean for more information about the event, or the new RSA UK-Africa network.

RSA London Mindfulness Network
Monday 12 January 2015, 7pm (for 7.30pm start) – 9pm
Royal Ocean Racing Club, 20 St James’s Place, London, SW1A 1NN

RSA London announces the creation of a new Fellows' Network: the RSA London Mindfulness Network. This inaugural meeting will cover and consider:

· What is mindfulness and its role in today’s society?
· What is the neuroscience of mindfulness?
· What are the historical roots of mindfulness practice?
· A taster mindfulness exercise will be offered.

A primary point of discussion will be the vision which the London Mindfulness Network might adopt to advance the RSA’s mission to enrich society through ideas and action, realise the potential of all learners by understanding and enhancing human capability, promoting creativity and engaging a network of Fellows to make its ideas and innovations available as inspiration, opportunity and resource to all, and ultimately achieve 21st century enlightenment.

The RSA Mindfulness Network is being initiated by Dr Henry Ford, who would solicit and encourage like-minded Fellows to join this new RSA London network to advance and embed the manifold benefits of mindfulness in society and the RSA.

There will be a cash bar open for refreshments.

Please register to reserve your place at this new RSA London Network kick-off event. Contact Henry Ford for more information.
