Weekend Warriors Welcome

Spring has sprung and warmer temperatures have arrived. Yardwork, outdoor runs, and springtime adventures are beckoning. The trouble is, we cram all of this in during our work-free hours on weekends.

Suddenly engaging  in vigorous activity without a gradual build-up sets us up for painful injuries. The most common weekend warrior injuries are:
  • ankle sprains & strains
  • groin pull
  • hamstring strain
  • shin splints
  • knee injuries
  • tennis elbow

If you find yourself injured from your weekend activities, stop in to Bedard Pharmacy & Medical Supplies for pain relievers, braces & splints, hot and cold therapy packs, and BioFreeze.

We also carry athletic recovery socks, which use graduated compression to improve blood flow and reduce pulled muscles and exercise-induced muscle soreness.

All About
Lift Chairs

lift chair is a specially constructed power recliner that can lift a person to an almost standing position. Lift chairs are very beneficial for people who struggle to stand up from a sitting position.

The lift chair also controls the lowering motion of the chair to a sitting and reclining position, and allows the user to stop the recliner in any position.

There are three types of lift chairs: 2 Way, 3 Way, and Infinite Position. All three lift chair types will bring the user up to the same almost-standing position. The difference is in how far back the lift chair reclines.

A 2 Way lift chair is limited to a slight recline of 45°, and can recline  to any position between 45° and straight up. This option is perfect for those who don't need to fully recline.

A 3 Way lift chair reclines to an almost-flat position, but does not achieve a perfect horizontal line. 3 Way lift chairs can also recline to any position
between almost-flat
and straight up.

Infinite position lift chairs can fully recline to a flat position. Infinite position lift chairs have dual motors (one for the back and one for the legs), which also allows the user to have their feet higher than their heart.

Did you know...

We verify insurance.

Verifying insurance prior to receiving an item or supplies is important because it cuts down on unexpected out-of-pocket costs. We are able to tell if a customer has a remaining deductible & what co-insurance they can expect.

Calling the insurance company can clarify if a specific piece of medical equipment can be a purchased or if they
require it to be a rental.

Insurance companies have specific guidelines, depending on the situation. We can get the guidelines in advance, and inform the customer if they meet qualifications. This allows the customer to make their own choices for their care.

Wig Construction

A wig is not just a wig. There are many different types of wig construction, ranging from traditional to monofilament to hand-tied construction.

Traditional construction features a fine net material in the top area of the wig, with an open cap in the back made of stretch lace. The lace in the back creates ventilation to keep your head cooler. Often referred to as "machine-made", wigs featuring this construction are the most economic choice.

Monofilament construction is made with an extremely sheer mesh used to make a transparent base that creates a realistic-looking scalp area. Then, individual fibers are hand-tied to simulate the appearance of natural hair growth. A mono wig feels smoother against the scalp than a traditional wig, and as a result is more comfortable.

A hand-tied wig is made with a soft-stretch lace base, with 100% of the fibers individually hand-knotted onto the lace base. This type of wig construction is lightweight and exceptionally comfortable as the lace feels soft against the head. This type of wig construction is the most luxurious and natural-looking wig available.
