MFRC: Virtual Outreach

It is exciting to see the growth of virtual programming being offered at Military Family Resource Centers across the country and Out Can. Currently, MFRC staff across the country are being trained in virtual programming with the goal that no matter where a Canadian Armed Forces Family is being posted, they will be able to access quality programs in a virtual classroom from the comfort of their home computer.

As the roll out of virtual programming continues here at MFRC-NCR, we invite you to join in on one of the many virtual classroom demonstrations that are being offered free of charge.

  • Connect with members of our community from the comfort of your home
  • Access quality recorded briefs, such as How to Talk to Our Children About the Impact of Stressful Events; Working Virtually - Virtually
Tips on work as a virtual assistant; Scholarships – Finding the Hidden Dollar
  • Click here to listen to an 8-minute recording: MFRC-NCR info Virtual Programming  https://mfrc-ncr.webex.com/mfrc-ncr/lsr.php?RCID=a8e37b9d3065f05d4448ebdc47d56a96
PEI MFRC Summerside Satellite Office

We'll have a staff member available on a regular basis throughout the month. You can check the events calendar for all hours: http://www.peimfrc.ca/events/ We're located in the Summerside Armouries in Slemon Park (10 Parkway Lane—after you pass the Slemon Park Plaza, take the first left).

Feel free to stop by for a visit during these times. Please note that the door to the building must remained locked, so visitors are asked to ring the buzzer when you arrive or call ahead to make an appointment (902.314.9461) or email our program coordinator (Lynn.Milligan@forces.gc.ca). Please note this office is not wheelchair accessible.
Blog Post: Year in Review
Now that the holiday season has come and gone, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the past year. Many people use January as a time for reflection—a look back on the year that has come to a close—, and we at the PEI MFRC can say that had an incredible year. It was our first official year, and, boy, was it a busy one!

Letter to PEI from Serving RCAF Pilot

Back in December, PEI MFRC staff and volunteers got together and put together Morale Packages for PEI military working overseas.

Earlier this month, we received a letter from a serving member of the Royal Canadian Air Force thanking us for the package. While this solider expresses humility at receiving one of our holiday packages, truly anyone who reads his words will be humbled.

I am writing from ______ where I am currently serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force . . . For the past six weeks, I have been sitting on a well packaged Christmas gift from … PEI, addressed to me specifically . . .
