Principal's Message

LBJ ECHS Parents:

Thank You for the support shown throughout the school year!!! We are very excited about the achievement of our students, and positive impact made thus far on campus.

We had an awesome professional development session with the Jaguar STAFF on last week as we prepare to finish the Spring 2020 Semester full of School PRIDE & Achievement!

***Student Attendance is critical and a high focus area for the campus, and we are taking several actions steps to improve our overall campus attendance rates. We must ensure our students earn their credits for the Spring, and excel academically. Please help us by reinforcing to your child the importance of attending all of their classes every day, and also remain in constant communication with your child’s teachers as we work together to ensure high student success! #Teamwork

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Students attendance is very important to student academic success! Please be sure that your child attends school every day. We are beginning to have grade level competitions for attendance and attendance challenges!

JAG ROARS!

College & Career Field Trips
This week LBJ students attended the National Hispanic College Fair. Students had a great time and were very engaged. Students were able to obtain a lot of information from different colleges, universities, military branches, and trade schools!

Staff Collaborating to Support Students
Every week teachers and staff meeting in various groups and committees to discuss the best ways to support students both academically and social-emotionally. Professional Learning Communities are times were teachers from the same subject area discuss their content and best ways to help students learn. The Child Study Team (CST) discusses ways to provide students with additional wrap around supports.

Teachers and Staff Engaging in Professional Learning
On Friday, teachers and staff were led through a mindfulness activity from the Amala Foundation. The activity taught staff members the difficulty in choosing deliberate responses versus reactive responses as they learned how to support students social emotional needs.

Congrats to the First Ladies!
