JUNE 2020

NEWSLETTER
Hope’s Door hotline and shelter have been fully operational, 24/7 throughout the NYS PAUSE.  All of our counselors, attorneys and other staff have been working remotely, caring for clients, taking on new cases, and raising critical funds to stay operational.

WE are always here for those who need us. And YOU are here for us.  You have demonstrated that through your generosity since the pandemic hit NY.  We thank you.

We still face a budget gap of $100,000 from canceling our Gala on May 1, and we desperately need Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, but your generosity and continued support has demonstrated that you care, and we are incredibly grateful.

Paint Party at the Shelter!

Hope's Door Children's Counselor, Anna, took individual canvases, designed them and had the children at the shelter decorate them to create their very own painted masterpiece. "It gives them something to be proud of," she says. "We had a fun day outside and each child’s painting is uniquely their own, with really vibrant colors and fun decorations!"

Please consider making a donation here, so you can help bring arts and activities to the children in the shelter.

School is Closed, but STAR is Still Here!

Given the recent announcement that schools will not be re-opening for the remainder of the school year, Hope's Door wants to remind everyone that our STAR program is still here!
Our prevention team members have curriculum material available for teachers to share with students and are happy to schedule virtual classes to discuss safety in relationships!

If you would like to be given the materials or learn more about the program, please contact Alexa Kauffman.

Arthur's Story
