Well, it's been a while. There's been so much going on and we've been busy sharing out info from all our friends and colleagues and now it's time to share more.
We're very excited to be part of the Highland Climate Festival which runs from the 25th Jun to 3rd July. There's something for everyone and we have events running every day. So sorry we couldn't fit in every area around Sutherland, but with our carbon cafes and film nights being kick started here, then, hopefully we can get something going in every Sutherland village soon. Do you want to do something, but don't know where to start? Well, please do feel free to get in touch with us or indeed with the North Highlands & Islands Climate Hub.
ps: If you've received this newsletter from a friend, please do sign up here to make sure you get our newsletters and updates on our projects, and don't forget to Forward to a friend, Thanks.

Highland Climate Festival - 25th Jun to 3rd July.

This festival is being orchestrated by Highland Adapts and The North Highland & Islands Climate Hub. They've been working extremely hard to pull together about 100 events both on line and in person. Many of the local climate groups are taking part and putting on events themselves throughout the Highlands.
Look here for full details of the Highland Climate Festival Events
And look here for all the events in Sutherland - Note that some need booked and some are just come along. For the booked events, please ensure to book early. Thanks
Planet Sutherland Events
We're really excited to get our Carbon Cafes going again as well as our film & discussion evenings - and we are especially looking forward to our 1st cafe in Durness. Near to the Kyle of Sutherland area, there are a few gardening and polytunnel events going on and we are hoping to build the community gardening volunteer base, especially to help out in the school gardens over the summer.
And more excitement!! ILM are coming to Bonar Bridge on the 1st July to collect all our unwanted electrical items for repair or recycling - go on - have a good clear out! (See times in the poster below).
Many thanks to the North Highlands & Islands Climate Hub for help with funding our events.

Apologies again that it's been so long since we've produced a wee newsletter. There has been alot going on during the covid years, and in particular, it may be useful to recap on the 4 large networked groups in the Highlands.
This wee picture hopefully provides a perfect summary. There are numerous organisations, businesses and community groups working within and with each of these groups to progress with everything from composting, food production, community food growing, energy efficiency, transport, education for all, funding help... and more.

Future Communities Highlands and Islands Network.
If you belong to a community climate group you might like to join our Highlands and Islands Climate Network - Future Communities Highlands and Islands. We meet once a month to share news and facts and update each other about what's going on in all of the above groups. To join, or find out more, please just email me here.
