6:30pm - Weds 12th May - Introduction to Permaculture

We're delighted that Ludwig from Earth Ways on Skye is coming along on to help us all learn about permaculture.

Please join us for an informative and exciting event to learn how Ludwig, our speaker, built his life through permaculture and how he is developing 15 acres of rock on Skye to create a wonderful and sustainable place.

Booking Details here:

During this introductory talk, Ludwig will share with us how powerful and useful regenerative design tools can be to make your life easier, richer and more enjoyable on all levels (be it in your garden, your home, your work, your community) whilst also improving the world around us.

6:30pm - Weds 28th May - Reducing Waste

Helen & Myriam from Zero Waste Scotland will lead a talk and discussion on how our communities can reduce waste and make more from waste and keep it local.
First, there will be an introduction to the circular economy concept, highlighting the 9 strategies for organisations and groups to consider – with case studies.
Then we'll focus on consumer behaviour, giving some top tips on how people can do things differently in their daily lives to reduce impact.
More details will follow, so save the date for now and if you'd like to pre-book, please email

New Polytunnel Chat Group
Following our well attended group discussion on Polytunnels on the 28th Apr, we've created a new chat group on Facebook where we can discuss the issues, difficulties and solutions with building polytunnels.

There's also chat on building a polytunnel "hit squad" so that we can all help each other get the tunnels up faster, or indeed create more community polytunnels.

Please do join the group if you have an interest in polytunnel building and maintenance. No doubt we'll be talking about growing difficulties too!!
All welcome. If you'd like us to re-run the talk on Polytunnels - The Good, The Bad and The ... Difficult.
You can join the Facebook Group here -

That's all for now folks.
Thanks for reading & hope to see you soon.
Join us here to #buildbackbetter. We're a welcoming, collaborative group and would love to hear your thoughts and ideas for local projects.
