February meeting

Our next group meeting will be on Saturday, Feb 1, from 2:00 - 3:45 PM, at Torrance Zamperini Field.

Our special guest speaker will be Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi (AD-66).  He will speak about the 2020 legislative session, his top priorities, and will engage in a Q&A session. Join us for a sure-to-be lively discussion!
Get Out The Vote for a Blue Wave in 2020!

We do get-out-the-vote activities in Purcell Room of the Peninsula Center Library (701 Silver Spur Road), from 1:30PM to 3:00PM on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month, through Election Day 2020.  We'll be doing short letters, text-banking, postcarding, and a variety of activities to turn out left-leaning voters in the 12 key battleground states that will decide the 2020 elections (including control of the U.S. Senate and state legislatures)

Our friends at Indivisible Beach Cities do postcarding at the Del Amo Mall food court on the 1st Sunday of each month, and on the 3rd Sunday at South Bay Galleria food court.  And our friends at Sister District hold postcarding every Monday at the Peninsula Center library.  Check the website calendar for details.

Help make a Blue Wave happen in 2020 by turning out voters and winning elections across the country!

Field Team 6 ran a week-long voter drive in Phoenix, in conjunction with fabulous AZ activists. The goal was to register 1,000 Democrats (and Independents) and we exceeded the goal with a total of 1,245!!! More than 100 people traveled from all parts of CA to take part.

If you want to work more locally, sign up at the link below for information about voter registration in Orange County.  It's fun to do, and you'll get all the help and training you need.  Indivisible South Bay organizes regular trips to join Field Team 6 in this critical activity. Let's work to keep the OC blue!

February Debate Watch

There are 3 separate presidential candidate debates in February, so we decided to host just the one closest to the California primary.

Join us on the evening of Tuesday, Feb 25, at Sizzler on 2880 Sepulveda in Torrance.  It's always lively, and it's fun to watch with a crowd of engaged activists!

Cause of the Month

This month, we're asking you to consider the Southern Poverty Law Center. For almost 50 years, the SPLC has been dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry, and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. Using litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy, the SPLC works toward the day when the ideals of Martin Luther King Jr - equal justice and equal opportunity for all - will become a reality.

Holding Our Elected Officials Accountable

We meet regularly with the staff of each of our elected representatives, at both the National and State level, to advocate for our positions on current legislation, and provide feedback to them on their actions & votes.

The meetings are great way to engage in the democratic process!  The staff listens carefully - and we often see positive outcomes from these interactions. If you'd like to participate, look for upcoming meetings on the calendar link below.
