Salary Reporting for 9-Month Employees

Salary files for monthly Salary Contribution Reports for the months of July and August should reflect zeroes for 9-month employees, unless the employees received earnings for work performed during those months. Correctly reporting zeroes will greatly reduce the number of error messages on the Exception Reports.  The error message will  indicate, “No Contribution Information Reported”. If your salary files cannot be populated with zeroes, you may simply use the online contribution correction form to add zeroes in order to clear the exception report messages or you may contact Kimberlyn Stewart via email kstewart@lsers.net to request a batch zeroes posting. Employer Statement Reports for Fiscal
Year 2015-16 Now Finalized

The employer statements for fiscal year ending June 30, 2016 have been finalized and now available online for employers to access through LSERS secure LSERSWeb portal. Please follow this procedure to access your agency’s statement.
  • “Previous Year Balance” is carried from last year ending balance.
  • “Prior Year Correction” includes all prior year corrections processed within this fiscal year.
  • “Current Payments” includes all payments received within this fiscal year. A detailed payments report may be accessed online.
  • “Current Charges” includes reported contributions on the monthly contributions report and any contribution correction reports (CCRs) processed for the fiscal year. A detailed charges report  may also be accessed online.
  • “Current Interest” is calculated for a balance due after 15th of every month.
  • Negative balance indicates you owe LSERS.
  • Positive balance indicates you have an overpayment in your account which may be applied as a credit with your next payment.
Current fiscal year 2016-17 estimated statement is also accessible online.

LSERS Annual Privatization Questionnaire Due October 1

Please remember that all school districts shall complete an annual privatization questionnaire covering the preceding fiscal year. The Annual Privatization Questionnaire is now available online. The information contained within the questionnaire should be certified by the School Board Superintendent and returned to LSERS on or before October 1, 2016.

Best Practices for Completing Beneficiary Form

For accurate and timely processing of Named Beneficiary, Form 3, please ensure that these guidelines are followed:
  • Discard outdated forms and replace with the current version located on the  website at www.lsers.net under Resources>Forms.
  • Form shall not be altered.  A form is considered altered when the name of the beneficiary is marked through or altered using whiteout or other corrective methods.
  • Complete multiple forms if more than three primary beneficiaries or more than three contingent designations are to be named.  Be sure to mark the box “Check here if more than one form is submitted” located above Section 1.
  • Form must be signed by the member.
  • Form must be witnessed and signed by two persons who are not named beneficiary(ies).
  • When listing multiple primary beneficiaries, percentages should total 100%.  This also applies to contingent beneficiaries.

Maintaining accurate employer information with  LSERS is extremely important. We encourage you to regularly access, review and update your staff contact information online to ensure accuracy and to streamline every day interactions between our agencies. Please follow these   procedures for updating information or email webmaster@lsers.net if you need to delete a staff member from your list.

Also, in order to receive the LSERS Employer eNews, be sure the domain @lists.lsers.net is allowed through any email filtering applications.
