Attention all seniors, the financial aid deadline is less than a month away! You must complete your FAFSA or California Dream Act by March 2^nd in order to qualify for the full amount of aid for paying for college. Completing a financial aid application is also a graduation requirement. Stop by the Career Center is you have questions about how to complete your financial aid application or if you need help in getting started.

Spring Sports Information: TRYOUTS
Boy's Volleyball Tryouts will start on Friday, February 10th from 7-9 PM. You must be medically cleared to try out.

Our Winter musical, Something Rotten, performs February 9, 10, and 11th in the SMHS Performing Arts Center.

The Bearcat Kindness Store is open TODAY at lunch, in the MPR conference room. The store offers school supplies and clothes like notebooks, binders, post-its, T-shirts, jeans, jackets and more all for free! Feel free to stop by if you need anything.

Teddy Bear Fundraiser Attention Bearcats!
The Freshman Class Council is having a Valentine's fundraiser and will be selling teddy bear grams in the quad starting today, February 8th until Monday February 13! These are teddy bear keychains you can send to your Valentine along with a custom note, and will be delivered on February 15 during tutorial. This all for the price of $3 (cash only), and all proceeds go to the Class of 2026. This fundraiser is open to all grades so stop by and buy some teddy bears!

Come buy rose grams in the quad from NOW - Friday, Feb 10th! We will be selling each rose for $5 each, $4 with a PAL sticker. Each rose comes with a customizable card!

Roses will be distributed in 3rd period on Tuesday, Feb 14th.

Annual Crabfeed Fundraiser

TICKETS ARE ON SALE UNTIL FEBRUARY 21ST!

Join us on Saturday, February 25th from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm for a fun evening of dinner, community, dancing, and raffle in support of the San Mateo High School Athletic programs. Dinner includes bread, soup, salad, pasta, all-you-can-eat crab and dessert. Additionally, we will have a no-host bar (drink tickets will be sold), DJ, photo booth and fantastic raffle with items that everyone will be fighting over! Fun for all. This is a 21+ event.

Climate Video Challenge for middle and high school students
Enter any time this school year, through May 31, 2023. Students are invited to submit a 3-minute video responding to the question, “What is your vision for a thriving future?” Contest instructions and rules, brainstorming prompts, and lots of information on climate change and climate solutions can be found at https://www.coastal.ca.gov/climatechallenge. Students can enter as individuals or in teams of up to five. Prizes are offered for first ($300), second ($200), and third ($100) place videos.

Attendance
When you have been excused to arrive late to school, you need to report to the attendance office before going to your class. Make sure to provide a doctor's note if you attend a medical appointment.

If you are leaving early you MUST PICK UP your permit to leave before leaving campus. If you do not have it with you when leaving, your attendance will be changed to a CUT .

*If a student does not follow these rules, they will be asked to leave the library.
Going to the Bearcat Den is a PRIVILEGE. Let's work together to make it a great environment for all Bearcats!
