Eat more vegetables.
Theme: Good Things
Good things come in small packages. IT'S TRUE! If you don't believe us, take a look at this week's bag. The littler stuff has a higher sugar content making it a sweet, sweet snack. These wee seckel pears and cherry tomatoes may be small but they have big flavor.

White Bell Pepper (1 pepper in small & standard, 2 in family) Best raw or lightly cooked, white bell peppers are beautiful and sweet. Their crisp texture is perfect in salads and quick stir-fry. Barber Farm (OG)
Storage: Up to a week in the fridge.
Vegan Bell Pepper & Corn Soup
Bell Pepper Relish
Green Bell Pepper (1 pepper in small & standard, 2 in family) Less sweet and slightly more bitter than yellow or orange peppers. Sauté with onions, garlic and oil. Barber Farms (OG)

Grilled Mixed Peppers and Onions
Shallots A member of the allium family, shallots are milder than onions or garlic. When slowly cooked, shallots become sweet. Toss with oil and salt, then cook in a warm oven until they soften. Shallots also taste great raw, especially in salad dressings. Try whisking together minced shallots, lemon juice, salt & pepper and olive oil to top a hearty green salad. Barber Farm (OG)
Storage: Pantry or fridge for one month.
Caramelized Shallots
Shallot Vinaigrette
Cherry Tomatoes This small variety of tomato has been cultivated since the early 19th century. Try roasting them whole (some will pop and splatter) until caramelized, then put on top of a cracker, puff pastry, bread, whatever. Barber Farm (OG)
Storage: We do not recommend refrigerating tomatoes because it can affect taste and texture. 1-3 days on the counter once ripe.
Carrots A colorful, versatile standard. Roasted, steamed, marinated, or raw, you can't go wrong with some orange on your plate. Try carrots a new way this week—maybe pureed in this delicious and easy Carrot Ginger Curry Soup pre-tested on fussy kids. Juniper Hill Farm (CO)
Storage: Several weeks in the fridge.

Broccoli Raab Did you know that broccoli raab/rabe/rapini is more closely related to turnips than broccoli? It is NOT supposed to have big flower heads like broccoli. To prepare, trim the stems, toss with garlic & olive oil, add a splash of liquid, and sauté for a few minutes (you do not need to peel the stems). Toss with pasta & some good Parmesan cheese or with rice & soy sauce. Markristo Farm (CO)
Storage: 3-5 days in the fridge.
Braised Broccoli Rabe:
Bring salted water to boil.
Add a bunch of broccoli rabe.
Boil 2 minutes.
Drain and squeeze moisture out of the broccoli rabe.
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Add chopped garlic (as much as little as you like).
Add broccoli rabe and cook for about 4 minutes. DONE.
