The Final Straw with The Paleo Diet

Issue #42                                                    September/ October 2014

My final and main contention with The Paleo Diet is that it is based on evolutionary principles which defy what the Bible says about creation, man, and the foods that we were designed to eat.  While there are many people who
have experienced reduced inflammation and improved gut health from The Paleo Diet,  the basis for the principles are simply untrue: original man consumed sprouted grains & legumes as well as dairy not too much later in histroy. True, these foods have changed over time due to genetic modification and hybridization, the quantities we consume have increased while the nutritional valued has decreased, and the amount of processing has increased, making "food" not really food anymore.  But what fueled our bodies in the beginning continues to be the best fuel for our bodies today: REAL WHOLE FOODS!  Read more about my final contention in The Paleo Problem: Part 5.

But, hey, I am a mom, and I understand the convenience of fast food and pre-packaged, processed foods that compose the lion's share of the Standard American Diet (SAD).  In fact, I joke about being a "Lazy Housewife" because if there is a quicker, less time and energy-consuming method to make healthy & nutritious WHOLE FOOD, then I find a way to do it.

Today, I am sharing with you a week's worth of time-saving breakfasts that are made in the oven on time bake, in a crock pot, or on the stove top. They are all gluten-free and dairy-free too!  I LOVE going to bed at night knowing that breakfast will be ready when I wake up!  Makes for a less hectic morning!

  2. Creamy Crock Pot Oats or Groats
