Blessed in Jesus!

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2Cor 9:8

Matt and Ellen Zell serving in Honduras!

God is Always Good!

These past couple months have been a bit rough, but we walk in the goodness of the Lord!
The pastors' training for June was rescheduled due to protests resulting in closed roads (including the airport at one point).  We had to check to see if the roads were blocked by protestors each day.  The Lord kept the roads we needed opened while other roads were blocked.
The week following the pastors' training we had two men join us to help in the work and the second day here one of them had a heart attack.  The Lord provided good medical care here and he is now safely back in the states doing well. Praise the Lord!  At the end of that week, a team of 6 from Georgia arrived. They were such a blessing to us in their love and in being low stress.  I (Matt) managed to badly twist my knee at the end of the team's visit. I've had three opinions, all with different diagnoses. At this point, strengthening the muscles around the knee is the treatment.  It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride but in it all God is good!

Pastors' Training

This past month's pastors' training was on "Shepherding the Shepherds"  (or Pastoral Care) taught by Rev. Garry Barber, Director of Joy House Counseling in Georgia.   It was really a training on how to counsel Biblically and in love.  We extended this training to include an extra day to offer counseling in each location. Rev. Garry was concerned how well this would work as usually it takes several sessions for people to truly open up.  Through an amazing work of the Holy Spirit, we saw individuals and couples who came ready to jump into the heart of their issues!

Short Term Team!

This is the second year for Living Stones Church of GA to send a small team to tackle big jobs.  We were amazingly blessed in the fellowship and great time spent in the Word.  Their visit was very refreshing! Thank you Living Stones!

Lots of Physical Work!

The team got busy and got down in the dirt!  They planted over 360 Moringa trees, a tire retaining wall was built, and three different carpentry projects were completed. Not to mention woking with the pigs and making pig feed!

Loving the CFI Youth!

The CFI youth joined the team for a time of blessing, crafts, and S'mores!  One of the women on the team shared her personal testimony and it really touched many of the youth.  Keep praying for these youth to accept Christ!

God is our Shield!

While doing so many physical projects, there are many opportunities for big accidents. Praise the Lord that His hand of protection was over the team!  (The screw went through Carlos' glove, but not his finger!)

Prayer Corner

  • Please pray the peace of Christ over this situation in Honduras! We are thankful that things have calmed down.
  • Please pray for the next pastoral training to be held at the end of the month on the "Theology of Salvation" presented by Pastor Jamie Archer from Georgia.
  • Please pray for our small group as they help us to discern the appropriate materials to use with the pastors in 2020.
  • Please pray for wisdom as we connect practical lessons with spiritual teachings.
  • Please pray for healing for Matt's knee. I (Matt) love the work at the Training Center. It's very hard not to be able to work there each day. I think the pigs are missing me, too.
  • Please pray for the Lord to raise up more financial supporters. We are SO THANKFUL for the many  financial supporters and prayer warriors! We couldn't do what we are doing without you!
  • Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Mt 9:37

Team Honduras!!

Team Honduras is God working through you and us!  You might never step foot in Honduras, but you can effectively engage through regular prayer for us and the work here, and through your financial support! Thank you to those who have been supporting us throughout these last eight years in Honduras, nine years out of the USA! We are so grateful!!

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer;
another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,
and one who waters will himself be watered.
Prov 11:24-25
