Easter Sunday

An empty tomb…what do YOU see …Grave Clothes …or Angels Robes ..?

We have celebrated this week: a Friend, Healer, Compassion, Word, Servant. Today we add two new names … what do they mean to us: Redeemer, Risen One?

God knows our intentions and still wants us to grow and transform to better ourselves through loving ourselves and loving others. As YOU look into the tomb, what do YOU see?

Lectionary for This Week

Rev. Ellen and Tricia Reid
on Zoom,Tuesday evenings
April 19, 26 and May 3
from 7:00 – 8:30 pm
for coffee and conversation with a purpose.

April 19:
We will explore the worries, pains and concerns around church that have come up in the past few years through the pandemic, before it and perhaps because of it. The following questions will form the foundation of our first discussion:
  • How does acknowledging our pain and hurt bring those things out and into the light?
  • What healing are you waiting for? Is God a part of it?
  • What loss are you feeling?  Emotional, relationally, spiritually, physical?
April 26:
We will discuss the confusion of the present and the areas we feel need attention now that we are in a position to look forward.
May 3:
We will explore what we as a congregation are hungry for in the future – what do we want to bring into our church that will feed our souls and our selves.

Zoom links and reminders will be sent out via MailChimp and in future Buzz issues. If you are not already signed up for 4Cs and would like to be included for reminders, please contact the church office. or 416-694-4081 ext 1.

Notice of Congregational Meeting

Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 7 pm on Zoom

On April 21 we will be holding a congregational meeting to approve
updated position descriptions for Rev. Dr. Ellen Redcliffe and
Rev. Carmen Llanos and requests to Shining Waters Regional Council to extend Ellen's appointment to December 31, 2022 and to offer Carmen a call as of July 1, 2022.

The position description changes are updates relating to the ministry work being done; hours of work and compensation arrangements are not changing.
The extension of Ellen's appointment by six months will provide stability while we search for a Minister who can be called to ministry with us in January, 2023.

Carmen's ministry with Dorothy's Place will transition to a position with the new corporation when our Dorothy's Place and Toby's Place programs are transferred to it.
Since the timing of the transition is uncertain, offering Carmen a call will enable her work to continue without us having to continue requesting approval by the Regional Council of reappointments.

The meeting will be chaired by our Regional Council Pastoral Relations Liaison, Lynella Reid-James.
The Zoom link and other meeting information, including the revised
position descriptions, will be sent out before the meeting.

Please mark the date and time on your calendar.
