Thank you for your Support in 2020

As we near the end of a long and momentous year, we want to thank you for choosing to support our efforts as a 2020 Supporting Member. This year brought many unexpected challenges, yet collectively we’ve continued making meaningful and lasting progress on land and water conservation in communities throughout Montana. We couldn’t do this work without the support and generosity of partners like you, and we ask that you consider joining us as a Supporting Member once again in 2021.

Below are a few examples of the services and resources your support provides to watershed conservation efforts throughout the state:

  • Funding – The MWCC Watershed Fund provides financial support to groups across the state for project implementation, organizational capacity, and professional development. In 2020, we worked with numerous funders to provide more than $215,000 to 28 communities.
  • Peer-to-Peer Learning & Networking – Our events (e.g., Watershed SymposiumAnnual MeetingWatershed DayFall Watershed Tour, etc.) connect watershed organizations, landowners, agencies, non-profits, researchers, and funders to create opportunities for learning, networking, and relationship building.
  • Big Sky Watershed Corps Support – For the last 10 years, we have worked with our partners to provide funding, training, and mentoring to members and host sites in the Big Sky Watershed Corps program
  • Information Sharing – Our biweekly Watershed Newsletter contains a collection of statewide highlights related to land and water conservation and provides up-to-date information about funding, careers, events, and other topics within the watershed community.
  • Sharing and Promoting Accomplishments – We work with local partners to develop stories and materials (e.g., Watershed StoriesState of the Watersheds Report, etc.) that convey the importance of locally-led watershed conservation efforts and highlight on-the-ground successes.
  • Representing the Watershed Approach – MWCC works with agencies and NGOs at the statewide, regional, and national level to act as a collective voice for locally-led approaches to conservation in Montana.
As a small token of our appreciation, we’re excited to share with you the very first look at our 2021 State of the Watersheds Report. This report highlights our collective impacts in watershed communities across the state, and we hope this inspires you to keep up the great work as we begin the new year.

We encourage you to continue supporting these important efforts to promote healthy and productive watersheds throughout Montana. Have a safe and happy new year, and we hope to "see" you again in 2021.

- Thank you from all of us at MWCC
