Wests to               Argentina

Dear Praying Partners,

It is unbelievable how fast the time flies. May and June were relatively slow months for our presentation schedule. However, we did travel many miles presenting our ministry in churches in Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas and Colorado. We also had the privilege to be the Missionary Speakers at a Christian camp here in Iowa. There we had the joy of challenging Junior boys and girls to consider the possibility of serving the Lord wherever God might use them. God granted us safe travels and a good reception among the churches. What a blessing the Lord has allowed us as we make our way to Argentina.

As you have prayed for us regarding support, faithful persistence, and travel mercies, would you also add the well-being of our children? Rose and Doug, our two oldest, are “out of the nest,” married and building a life for themselves. Our prayer is that they and their spouses will walk in a manner pleasing to the Lord. Mike and Steve are still serving with us as we travel on deputation.

A word needs to be given regarding these often “invisible” partners of ours. While not neglected, the children of missionaries may often feel that they are just along for the ride. They are “missionaries” by virtue of the relationship with the parents. It is a great temptation for wrong attitudes, frustration, and complacency to settle in as they are “dragged” mile after mile, from one location to another. In our case, however, Mike and Steve are a tremendous help and integral part of our ministry. Both of them display a servant’s spirit in the routine of packing and setting up the display in each church we visit. Steve is our go-to guy for the technical part of the presentation (he is the one who had the major hand in our video). We attempt to engage them week after week in conversations in the van as we travel from one place to another and we remind them constantly that they too are part of what we are doing. I have to say that they do remarkably well. I believe that is due to the knowing prayers of many of you. Please, let me urge you to KEEP UP THOSE PRAYERS! We want this to be one of the most blessed times of their lives. We want them to know that they are part of this ministry and that they are serving the Lord as well. We want them to catch the burden for missions too. Will you pray for them?

Thank you again for your ministry of prayer!
