Historic Ice Jams in Kentville
According to a report in the Montreal Gazette of Feb 2, 1981, “Dynamite was used early yesterday to blast loose an ice jam and relieve flooding from a stream in the east end of Kentville. The ice jam and heavy rain sent water spilling over the banks of Mill Brook during the night, forcing temporary evacuation of several homes. There were no injuries.”
