School Counsellor Sponsorship Program

Less than two weeks to go! School Counsellor Sponsorship Program
Be quick! You have less than two weeks left to submit your application for the School Counsellor Sponsorship Program.

As an approved teacher you can get paid to study to become a school counsellor in a NSW public school. The department's School Counsellor Sponsorship Program will provide you with a full-time teacher salary while you study, and a guaranteed permanent position as a school counsellor upon successful completion of your studies.

The different programs are dependent on your current qualifications. Find out which one is right for you:
  1. Psychology sponsorship for teachers who have not completed a three-year sequence of Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) approved psychology studies, but have completed a minimum of two first-year level psychology units that form part of an APAC approved sequence of study, with credit.
  2. Rural school counsellor sponsorship for rural teachers who have completed a three-year sequence of Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) approved psychology studies.
  3. Metro school counsellor sponsorship for metro teachers who have completed a three-year sequence of Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) approved psychology studies.
