To remain employed, or to be eligible to seek employment, in NSW public schools beyond 2017, you need to provide a valid Working with Children Check clearance to the department by 17 November 2017.
It is important to note that for teachers a valid WWCC clearance is also one of the mandatory requirements of accreditation with NESA - without a valid WWCC clearance, teachers will be ineligible for accreditation and no longer eligible to work as a teacher in any NSW school.
To complete the process, you need to:
Go to the Office of the Children’s Guardian website to submit your application online.
Go to the nearest Service NSW Centre with your application number to confirm your 100 point identification requirements and pay your fee ($80).
Once your WWCC clearance is received, submit your clearance number via the department’s ESS portal.
Should you require assistance in providing your WWCC clearance number to the department please contact our Probity team at email@example.com.
