Hey Norm's Friend!

You read that right folks, Yellow Dog Consulting WWHQ is moving to Portland in 2015! Earlier this month my husband accepted a position at Nike and at the end of January we will be moving to Oregon! As a native Oregonian I am excited to be back in my home state, closer to family and the REAL Happiest Place on Earth: Powell's. So this month, here's 3 Reasons I'm Excited to Move to Oregon!
  1. It's Time for a Change. A change of scenery is a good thing. I'm excited to discover a new neighborhood, learn how business gets done in Portland, and explore the city with Hank & my husband. We've been in Issaquah for 9 years, it's time for a change. (Although Issaquah is awesome, and I hear there's a lovely townhouse for sale...)
  2. More time to Work. I know this sounds like the WEIRDEST thing to be excited about. My schedule in Seattle gets so easily filled up with happy hours and lunches and coffees that I often have a hard time getting my work done. I'm kind of excited to not know a ton of people and be able to get more work done!
  3.  I Have the Best Clients! Besides one look of panic, my clients are all very excited for this move and not worried about how it will effect our work. My plan is to be in Seattle every other month to meet in person with clients. I built this business knowing that it could work anywhere. I have a phone, Skype and Facetime, they can get ahold of me just as they always have. The only issue is I can't do a quick pop in to drop off or pick something up. And that happens very infrequently. Bonus: a few clients are already planning trips to visit!
Change is a good thing, we need new adventures in our lives and businesses. I didn't start Yellow Dog Consulting to be safe, I started it because I had to for me. I knew I wanted to build a business that I could do from anywhere, and as long as Hank is snoring on the couch in our office, we'll be fine!

I hope you enjoy the last few days of 2014 and I am excited for what's in store for you in 2015! Have a wonderful Christmas, Festivus, etc.!

Hank & I got to hangout with one of our favorite kids last week. Caleb LOVED getting to walk Hank especially because they go at about the same pace!
