Celebrating the 11th Annual Festival of Cultures


The day began early with food trucks arriving, volunteers helping set up tents and
tables, and participants preparing for a full day of community celebration. Soon the park would fill up with visitors enjoying the cultural exhibits, resource agencies, performances, artisan vendors and the children's crafts.
 
The Morris Dancers opened the performance program, followed by the popular young Indian dancer Arghya Shetty. Next was a beautiful appearance of a Thai dancer with very long fingernails and costumed wings.  Read More

 
 

Thank You Donors!


This day would not be possible without the generous support of our many many donors.  Thank you to the City of Charlottesville, Charlottesville Sister Cities Commission, Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville Albemarle, Piedmont Council for the Arts, Charlottesville Albemarle Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Haven, WTJU community radio, Voices for Animals and the Charlottesville Vegetarian Festival, International Rescue Committee.   Several individuals also gave financial donations.
 
A big thank you to support from our local business community including  Dominion Resources, Speak Language Center, Ten Thousand Villages, Leadership Charlottesville, Charlottesville Family Magazine, Virginia Tent Rental, Virginia Linen Service.  Generous donations for our raffle were provided by Atlas Coffee, Guadalajara, Harris Teeter, Hawksbill Pottery, Hiromi Tai Chi, Jefferson Madison Regional Library, Nairobi Art Life, PVCC, Salon Druknya, Serenity Nails, Sticks Kebob Shop, The Spice Diva, Trager Brothers Coffee, and Whole Foods.
