Commodity Alerts

Transitions & Temperatures:
  • Bell Peppers: Bell Peppers in all colors will finish from Coachella Valley and transition to Northern Mexico by the first week of December. 
  • Blueberries: Argentina production volume is slowing down, but is quickly being replaced with production out of Chile.
  • Strawberries: Supply remains limited. Recent rains in California have affected production and availability. Oxnard, California strawberries will begin production around the first and second week of December. 
  • Broccoli: Production has started in Yuma AZ.
  • Cauliflower: Production has transitioned from the Salinas Valley, CA to Yuma AZ.
  • Celery: Production is transitioning out of Salinas into Oxnard.
  • Grapes (Green): Domestic grapes supplies are very limited. Market prices are on the rise. Chilean fruit expected to arrive on the west coast late December.
  • Grapes (Red): Chilean product is expected to arrive on the west coast by Christmas.
  • Kale: Production has transitioned from Salinas CA to Yuma AZ, with little disruption in supplies.
  • Lettuce Iceberg: Production has transitioned into the Yuma region and the Imperial Valley region is projected to start production in the middle of December.
  • Lettuce Leaf: Santa Maria is about to be finished for the season. The Imperial Valley region is expected to start on production around mid of December.
  • Cantaloupe:The desert has past its peak season and it is going to be finished by the end of next week unless weather ends sooner.
  • Honeydew: The desert has past its peak season and it is about to be finished for the season.
WEATHER:
An active storm is in the forecast moving into California through the week. Seasonal temperatures and a chance of tropical showers will continue in Central Mexico.
