ISE 2018

ISE 2018 is a good opportunity for us to show how we are able to supply a complete solution for the creation and delivery of immersive audio content. Live events, theme parks, museums, product launches, retail spaces, transport hubs have all benefited from the unique capabilities offered.
The rapid increase in demand for VR and AR solutions is ably handled with a range of plug-ins to handle different experiential demands. Ovation can work successfully with a number of video projection solutions and a popular show control software. The growth of Audio over IP has revealed a weakness in the management and control of the network. The ANEMAN network manager is an open solution to the challenge of controlling AES67 networks and is already supported by a number of manufacturers.

Also don't miss the ISE 2018 IP Networking Sessions. AIMS member companies will present four sessions on audio-related IP networking. Nicolas Sturmel, ANEMAN developer, will be taking part to the "AES67 in Real-World Applications" Q&A session which will focus on practical aspects of using AES67 and ST 2110-30 in the field.

NativeDSD DSD256 Releases

NativeDSD.com, a long time Merging customer and partner, provides listeners a top quality resource for DSD, DXD and Analog-to-DSD Music in Stereo & Multichannel channel configurations, directly from record labels and engineers making these recordings. Getting you as close to the actual performance as possible.
Here are some releases from the passed month that are using our Horus/Hapi converters.
  • The Cannonball Adderley Quintet and their album Legends Live at Liederhalle Stuttgart '69.
This is the latest release from the team at 2xhd Mastering, this time dipping into the Legends Live collection from Europe’s SWR2 music catalog of classic Jazz recordings. It is an Analog Tape to DSD 256 transfer by 2xHD’s Rene LaFlamme using Merging Technologies Pyramix software and Horus Analog to DSD 256 Converter.

  • The Ben Webster-Johnny Hodges sextet in studio conditions at The Jazz Cellar in San Francisco, California (without an audience). It is presented here in its complete form for the first time ever.
On this album, also from 2xhd Mastering - Storyville Records, recorded on Analog Tape in the early ‘60s and transferred from Analog Tape to DSD 256 by Rene LaFlamme using the Merging Technologies Horus Analog to DSD 256 Converter, Johnny Hodges teams up with tenor saxophone player and ballads master Ben Webster, Verve Records, to perform some of his compositions made famous during his Ellington years.

  • Chopin's Last Waltz
After receiving some enthusiastic fan mail about the recent DSD 256 Stereo and DSD 256 Multichannel release of Chopin's Last Waltz that was recorded in native DSD 256fs, NativeDSD asked IsoMike for a Producer's Note and published it on their blog.
IsoMike's Ray Kimber says: "We have been recording in DSD for many years, using first TASCAM tape-based DSD machines, then Genex DSD recorders, then the Sonoma DSD Workstation and finally the Merging Technologies Pyramix DSD 256 Workstation with the Horus Analog to DSD 256 Converter.
This is recorded with the IsoMike in DSD 256 on the Merging Horus. No limiting, no compression, no EQ, no filtering, and no mixing. To be honest this feels very exciting and a bit dangerous. (...)"

MERGING+PLAYER review

You might know by now that we have released MERGING+NADAC, an audiophile orientated DAC based on the Horus and Hapi hardware, with the goal of offering audiophiles a way to listen, at home, to mastered audio with the same quality components that were used to create the master.
We have partnered with Roon Labs to create the MERGING+PLAYER, an audiophile music server, based on the Roon software and integrated in the MERGING+NADAC.
Alan Sircom from HiFi Plus Magazine reviews the MERGING+PLAYER.
