Creating Art With Nature
This month we kicked off our new art activity, "Creating Art with Nature"!
We hosted the children of Birchland Treehouse Daycare and watched them create some amazing pieces of art using paint, glue, and all kinds of bits and pieces from nature. It's so wonderful to see such imagination and creativity!
We will be hosting this event for the community once a month (see below for more details), and are happy to book a private workshop date for your group if you contact firstname.lastname@example.org!
Ongoing Exhibits Naturally PoCo PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives
May - December 2019
Explores Port Coquitlam's natural beauty through the lenses of community photographers!
Every year the residents of Port Coquitlam submit their photos to our exhibit collaborators, the City of Port Coquitlam, for publication in the City's "Naturally PoCo" Community Calendar. Our Naturally PoCo exhibit displays a selection of the hundreds of photos that were submitted to the City throughout the year of 2018, alongside photographs and artifacts from our collections that explore photography over the last 110 years.
Come explore Port Coquitlam's beautiful seasons with us!

We are wanting to develop a lot of new museum events and programming (trivia nights, murder mysteries, movie nights, book clubs, and more!) as well as fun and interactive exhibits - and we could use your help!
If you are interested in sharing your creativity with us by helping to develop some of this programming please check out the four fun, creative positions below:
If you are interested or would like more information please contact Kelly Brown, Manager and Curator at email@example.com.
Our Little Free Library has been so popular that it is hard to keep it stocked with books!
If you have any books that you are willing to donate to the Little Free Library please drop them off at the PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives, Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In The News
Unfortunately many of the Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam Little Free Libraries have been burnt down and vandalized in recent weeks. If you would like to contribute to getting the libraries rebuilt, or have books you would like to donate to get them restocked please let us know! We will get those resources to the right people.
"Sarah and Michael Explore Port Coquitlam" Book Sale
We are selling copies of our collaborative children's history book in the PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives!
The books are $15 each, and this money is being used to create bursaries to further strengthen our community by helping to fund high school students who are interested in pursuing post-secondary education in culture, heritage, or the arts.
Return It Express PoCo Heritage now has an account set up with Return It Express to get a return on drink containers; you don't even have to sort them! If you would like to donate your recycling to our account (every little bit helps!) please bring everything in a large, clear drawstring bag to your Return It location and give them our phone number 604-927-8403 at the kiosk. If you don't have the number handy you can choose PoCo Heritage from a list on the screen.
