A UC Davis-organized COVID-19 webinar next Thursday, April 23, features experts in infectious diseases, immunology, pathology and emergency medicine. The public is invited to submit advance questions and attend via YouTube or Zoom (register). Learn more

The state of California has a coronavirus site with statewide numbers and updates. A web tool by UC Davis researchers also reports cases and testing across the globe, and at the country, state and county levels. Learn more or visit the app

Note: Infections in a community may vary against reported numbers, due to factors such as testing limitations. See local websites for context.

The search for solutions
Results from first trial of promising antiviral
Preliminary results are in from a world-first clinical study of remdesivir, which included UC Davis Health. The small study was given to patients on a “compassionate use” basis to help doctors assess the value of potential new treatments that may save lives, until large randomized studies are complete. While social media can be a notoriously fickle source of quality information, “sick posts” could also give public health officials a head start on emerging diseases, UC Davis researchers say. Learn more
