FPDS Helps Hurricane Harvey Victims

Flood Buckets
First Presbyterian Day School raised almost $8,500 for Hurricane Harvey flood victims in Houston. Donations were used to purchase supplies that fifth-graders packed into more than 100 flood buckets to ship to Houston through the Presbyterian Church of America’s Mission to North America Disaster Relief ministry. Many hygiene bags and individual flood buckets were also donated.

Going Gold for MS Kids

FPDS recognized September as Childhood Cancer Awareness month by “going gold for Mississippi kids.” The Crusader Club and FPDS families raised more than $4,500 to donate to The Campbell Bulldog Fund, begun by FPDS family Jill and David Dale to assist with childhood cancer research at Batson Children’s Hospital. To view photos of our students and faculty showing their support, along with our second grade’s balloon release, visit (listed under 2017).

FPDS Preschool Opens With Success

The FPDS preschool opened in August with 100 students and 16 new faculty members. Students have been busy learning letters, shapes, colors, and Bible lessons. A highlight of their week is cooking in the FPDS Diner, an enrichment class that comes each Friday after other exciting classes throughout the week such as Science Explorers, TOTS, art, music, and movement. Our sixth-graders serve as helpers for carpool, lunch, reading time, and morning play.
