REALYOUNG 2021, March 15

Welcome to the 7th edition of the M:brane initiative RealYoung, the unique meeting point for makers of real-life stories for young audiences. Here we help creators enhance their ideas and so they can cross borders to an international audience.

RealYoung brings together creators, funders, distributors, publishers and a panel of the target audience – the children. Because the essence of RealYoung is that we do not develop documentaries for kids and youth. We develop together with them. During the pre-pitch workshop participants get direct feedback from the children, who are providing their straight and honest opinion. This makes the RealYoung-projects target group tested and approved.

We have developed the RealYoung initiative to meet the needs of younger audiences today. Kids and youth grow up with visual media as the prime source for navigating and understanding the world around them. Kids and youth consume a substantial number of real-life stories via YouTube channels, Instagram posts, Snapchats and via many other outlets. But where can they access edgy, daring, stimulating and thought-provoking reflections on real life?

With RealYoung we want to make stronger real-life stories that can help shape the next generation. We want to secure, that they are offered an alternative to funny cats and laughing babies.

We try our best to make RealYoung relevant and helpful for creators. We want it to be an effective gateway for creators to take the next step in their project enhancement and meet with potential funders and collaborators.

kids Kino Industry invites a Pitch Project from M:brane 2021!

Kids Kino Industry is a co-production forum for films and series for young audiences. The event takes place annually in September in Warsaw, Poland (and online) as part of the Kids Kino International Film Festival. KKI, together with a Kids Kino IFF and Kids Kino.Lab creates an offer of initiatives to support development and dissemination of quality kids content.

Kids Kino Industry is a meeting place, where European professionals can freely exchange ideas and experiences, a space overflowing with creativity and organic joy. Our main focus is to present live action, documentaries and animations for kids, both films and series. Each year we are inviting about 300 professionals - European sales agents, distributors, VOD platforms, and many other potential financial partners, with a big representation of CEE countries. Our goal is to be a platform that connects projects and professionals between regions well developed in production for young audiences (like Scandinavia) and those who are still in the cradle of family entertainment industry.

Each year we have the honour to choose one of the projects presented at the M:brane forum to be shown at Kids Kino Industry. Our long lasting cooperation with M:brane already brought us some enduring and captivating stories, but we want more.

We are looking for a project of earth-shattering quality, one that engages young audiences and empowers them - films or series, animations, features and documentaries. The chosen project will be selected and presented at the KKI forum. The creators of the project will be given accreditation which includes: full access to all events held during the KKI, opportunity to meet with invited Decision Makers, as well as free accommodation.
