Brazil Partners take over 96Boards OpenHours

Introduction

OpenHours Countdown! Click for instructions on how to join us today

The Brazilian Partnership Program, organized by Embarcados and sponsored by both Qualcomm and Arrow kicked off almost four months ago with an unprecedented turn out! As soon as the program launched, hundreds of projects were submitted. 96Boards, Inatel and Baita were brought on as support and the projects only grew from there.

Bruno Evangelista of Qualcomm, Thiago Lima (CMO of Embarcados), and many others involved took on the task of bringing together multi-disciplinary teams from all around Brazil for a new type of "Hackathon". Referred to as the "Qualcomm IoT Partnership Program" event organizers aimed to motivate hackers with shiny 96Boards IoT kits that would aid them in the quest to "Invent the Future" with DragonBoard 410c. As you may imagine this program was accepted quite well seeing over 450 project submissions! (~900 people in 450 teams). The twenty best ideas were chosen and each of these teams were sent hacker kits. The three month program was kicked off and before you know it project submissions and winner announcements!

The entire group of winners were sent to San Diego, CA to attend a series of workshops, informative meetings and of course to enjoy some of the fun San Diego has to offer... They are all here today for OpenHours!

Today's broadcast will feature the winners of this program. They will all be joining us in the Thinkabit lab on the Qualcomm campus here in San Diego to tell us all about their experience when developing on 96Boards. We will also be joined by the now familiar Rajan Mistry, and event organizers Bruno. Thiago and Frederico. This is your chance to get an inside look at what it takes to host and organize an amazing event like this. We will hear feedback from the participants and welcome any questions from the community!

We will also be broadcasting live on the 96Boards Facebook page.

The Community Mezzanine Initiative

Yes, you heard right. A new mezzanine movement has begun, and everyone is invited for the ride. Together we hope to drive 96Boards community hardware to another level. Keep your eyes on this new repository to stay up to date. We will of course be offering updates during our weekly OpenHours broadcast as well.
