GPC England contract negotiations

Following the vote not to accept the contract package on 16 January, GPC England have been in further negotiations with NHS England and NHS Improvement. There will now be a further meeting of GPC England on Thursday 6 February to discuss the outcome of negotiations.
This week the Guardian also reported on the wide concerns of NHSE/I’s proposals, Dr Richard Vautrey, GPC Chair, commented that the previous draft service specifications were “unreasonable and completely unachievable”.

LES Agreement Meeting with Ian Trimble 04/02/20

We have organised an Enhanced Services Open Meeting which will take place next Tuesday 4th February 2020 at Bestwood Lodge, 19:30-21:30 (refreshments and food served from 18:45, meeting begins at 19:30). Ian Trimble will be talking through the agreement in more detail and will also be doing a Q&A session to answer any queries you may have. Great turnout to the Nottinghamshire LMC Annual Conference 2020!
Thank you to all those who attended our annual conference on Thursday 30 January, it was great to see so many of you there.

Our conference kicked off with a presentation by GPC Chair, Dr Richard Vautrey who talked about the new GP Contract, workforce realities, PCN specs and what the future of general practice is looking like.

We had a variety of workshops throughout the day, including: HR with John Krafts, Social Media Master Class with Dr Hussein Gandhi, How to handle complaints presented by MDU, CQC tips and guidance for practices (view presentation here), PCSE (view presentation here), Flexible Working in General Practice by Dr Sonali Kinra & Dr Jas Atwal (view presentation here), plus many more.

We ended our conference with an important presentation by Dr Helen Garr on wellbeing and how to improve your headspace both personally and professionally. View more wellbeing tips and guidance on the

We are proud to say that Nottinghamshire LMC have signed the Armed Forces Covenant to ensure those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. 

John Wilson OBE, Engagement Director for the East Midlands at the MOD, spoke at our conference on Thursday 30 January to practices about how they can get involved and support veterans and their families.

Sign up to the FREE GMC Workshop!

The FREE workshop takes place on 18 February 2020 at NBV Enterprise Centre. This is an all day workshop and Kim Tolley will be the main speaker.

The workshop looks at the different ethical dilemmas GPs are regularly faced with in their work. A mixture of case studies will be used and interactive learning techniques to bring the subject areas to life and show how our guidance can support GPs in making difficult decisions in their practice.

Are you a GP on a career break or returning back into practice?

Then this event is for you! A baby friendly CPD event, covering key tips to get back into practice, respiratory update, skin prick testing, mandatory BLS update and a music class for babies to break up the day.

As a guide the event is most suitable for babies up to 18 months but we welcome all GPs on or returning from career breaks.
