This October

You already know it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But did you know that while White women are most likely to present with breast cancer, Black women are most likely to die from it? The gap is even bigger for Black women under 35, who are twice as likely to develop it and three times as likely to never recover.

This month—and all the months after this one—consider sharing your time and money with nonprofits that center Black people who are fighting breast cancer:

African American Breast Cancer Alliance provides support for breast cancer survivors and their families.

Black Women’s Health Imperative works to improve health outcomes for Black folks via targeted initiatives and public policy.

Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation can connect you with local organizations fighting breast cancer.
