School Transport Services (STS) moves to Biofuel at GEMS Modern Academy

Our CSR-Partner School Transport Services (STS) teamed up with the prestigious GEMS Modern Academy to become the first school in the GEMS Education network to upgrade its fuel to Neutral Fuels B20 biofuel, supplied in conjunction with STS which manages the GEMS Modern Academy student transport services. fleet operators to join forces in promoting a 'Safe and Compliant Fleet'.

The school's student-led Sustainability Team is leaving no stone unturned in leading the way and demonstrating that the use of biofuel enables us to reduce our school bus carbon emissions. 

STS started to review the benefits of biofuel in July 2019 in an effort to reduce its carbon emissions and contribute to mitigating climate change. With a dedicated Neutral Fuels biofuel tank installed at GEMS Modern Academy, queues and refueling time for drivers will be reduced, increasing productivity and further decreasing carbon emissions.

Dh590m Intelligent Traffic Center opens in Dubai

The new Dh590m RTA smart traffic center expands the coverage of intelligent traffic systems from 11% to 60% of the roads network in the emirate. The new facility will improve the time for detection of road incidents and prediction of congestions, apart from facilitating a speedy response to them.

A hub for managing traffic movement across the emirate, the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre is a state-of-the-art technology platform that uses artificial intelligence, big data, internet of things and technologies of advanced communication systems. It connects with numerous devices for monitoring traffic, capturing data and running other smart services. Through intelligent traffic systems, the Centre has the ability to monitor and manage current and future roads network all over Dubai.
